The History Of Personal Lubes

We are so lucky to have all the modern conveniences, indoor plumbing, electricity, personal lubricants. Say what? Yes, personal lubricants. Now you can just get a bottle at the drug store or supermarket and think nothing of it, but think before lubes were widely available, less than 100 years, what people used. Saliva, animal fat drippings from cooking, and in ancient times, olive oil. Brothels and many that could afford it all had vases of olive oil in their bedrooms for this use.

Lubes make for a much smoother sexual ride, and wet sex is always the best sex. Many women just do not produce enough, no matter how mentally aroused they may be, so a supplementary one is often needed. Many times it also helps to get things started before your own juices will kick in. I used to swear by old KY, but since have found one I like better, Wet Synergy original, works great, not gummy, plenty slippery. Whether with a sexual partner or enjoying yourself alone, a personal lubricant can make things a whole lot more enjoyable.

People often use things not at all suited for the purposes they are trying to use them for, and infections can result. It really is best to get a sexual lube and not try your hand with butter or hair conditioner or something. I have used aloe gel in the past and that worked ok, but not sure how advisable that is. There was a funny scene in one of the “American Pie” movies where the male lead grabs what he think is lube, but it turns out is quick drying glue and he has to go to the hospital to have them unglue his hand from his cock. Now THAT would be embarrassing!
